The meeting will be in the early part of June. Rob and I have too many commitments with our businesses to do it any sooner.

We are keeping in touch with the City and Alderman in the meantime and have some other things to share too.

Man, it has been too quiet here. Anybody have any good memories of the theater? Any good movies played there?

At U.S. Cellular Field, they have a giant mural on the upper deck. It has a photo of the theater with the words "Footloose" on the marquee.

I remember the ramova as a place where the Latin Kings would go on sundays to hook up with all the bitches who were willing, I say tear it down and rid this neighborhood of such an eyesore

You apparently didn't get the message...this is a site about SAVING the Ramova, not destroying it.

And you can't blame the LNK for going to the place to hook up with the girls...Teenagers have been meeting and mating at theaters since movies were invented.

Any news? I am a Lithuanian from Detroit who will be in Chicago and would like to drive by the Ramuva. I am interested in her fate.

Hi Everyone:
We've had some false starts, but nothing really to write home about the Ramova. As far as we know the City is still talking with the developer who was interested in her.
We have had some private discussions with some interested parties, but nothing to really report for the public. Until then, we are keeping the home fires burning.
As soon as we have some news I will post it.

And yes, teenagers of all stripes have "hooked-up" in theaters since their inception. Mr Anonymous, I can share some recent emails with you from the 70-80 year old crowd who have fond memories of going to the Ramova to make out in the 40's(when it was called the Move-ovah!) if you'd like to read them. LOL
