We FINALLY went inside the Ramova!
I am happy to report that we have finally gone inside the Ramova. Yesterday afternoon, April 12th, Rob our Communications Director, Alderman Balcer, John Molloy from DPD and myself went for a tour of the Ramova.
The old girl has definitely sustained some severe damage and it will take a lot of funds to restore it to the condition that the City would like to see it in, but with that said, we are very hopeful. There is a lot of detail left, especially in the lobby, so it still feels like the Ramova I know and love! I have a lot of pictures and will bring them all to the next meeting.
Alderman Balcer even said that it was bringing back very happy memories for him of his days going there with his dad(it's his first time inside since the mid 70's!).
We will be having a meeting in the next few weeks (I will announce a date sometime next week)and we will show you the pictures we took of her and share all of our details when we meet again.
More to follow,
Maureen-

Thanks for the update. I would like to see those photos. There have been many damaged theaters in Chicago that have been restored to their former glory, and I would like to see that happen here as well.
Hi JTB:
Come to our next meeting (date is being determined as we speak) and you will.
Btw, we couldn't agree with you more and believe the theater has a lot of potential.
Thanks for your concern and continued interest.

When you went inside the Ramova did George yell at you??
Sorry to say that George Brown is deceased and no, his ghost didn't yell at us.
