The Ramova Brothers? The Ramova Brothers!

The cat (or the raccoon) is out of the bag.

STR has allied with The Ramova Brothers, a musical group fronted by WGN Radio / Chicago Tribune star Rick Kogan. The Brothers, who did indeed take their name from the theatre / chili parlor, are made up of top Chicago musicians from the studio, country, jazz and cabaret scenes will be playing a big benefit for WGN Needy Kids Fund / Stefani Childrens Charities...and Maureen and I will be there at a table, drumming up support for better treatment of the Ramova Theatre. Yes!

Showtime is THIS FRIDAY Nov 25 7:00 PM at the Park West (322 West Armitage) Doors open at 6. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster

We thank Rick Kogan for his support of STR. Later, I'll tell the story of how we got invited to this gig. In the meantime, make some time to support needy kids and the Ramova theatre all at the same time!

I wish I could attend . Unfortunately I am working . I am a blue collar Bridgeporter . I hope you can set up some meetings around noon or 1 o'clock P.M. Mon-Fri. I work second shift . Any of my free time is used to draw artwork for my comic books . Like I said in another post , I once drew the Ramova in a comic book that unfortunately never went out to the printers . I still have it . It's in a story loosely based on my teen experiences . I affectionately recall being kicked out of the theater with some friends for making too much noise . I hope the Ramova gets saved and a huge wish of many of the residents in Bridgeport is that it goes back to being an actual movie theater . Not some artsy performance theater or a clone of the Music Box . If you are going to save the Ramova , really save it as a Movie house . If others don't want to say it, I will . I think you would get more support from more of Bridgeport if it was going to be saved and re-opened as an actual movie theater again . Have you thought about this? Has this even been discussed at meetings? Please let me know .

Nino.

Sorry you can't make the benefit.
I did email you last week re:your drawing of the Ramova, I didn't hear back from you. :-) We'd love to see it!
If you'd answer email (I've emailed you twice and not heard back from you either time) or come to a meeting you would find that we are not out of sync with our other neighbors. It's hard to talk with you when you just post and not respond to my answers on the blog or email either.
Yes, we think a lot about what she can be and believe we have heard a good response from our neighbors about what they would like her to be. We plan to share this with the developer when we get to meet them.
We are NOT the developers, so we ultimately (unfortunately!) are not making her into anything, just trying to get our opinions heard.
Do you understand that Nino?
Happy Thanksgiving,
Maureen-
